Grab your hiking boots and head to The Heights of Abraham (6 miles). Ride the scenic cable car from Matlock Bath to reach the hilltop and you’ll be rewarded with wonderful views of the Derwent Valley. Alternatively, head to Gulliver’s Kingdom (7.5 miles), a family-friendly theme park with plenty of thrilling rollercoasters to keep everyone entertained.
In the evening, return to your cottage to relax by the glowing wood burner. Step inside this gorgeous 17th-century stone cottage and you’ll immediately appreciate the traditional styling in the cosy lounge and the practical kitchen diner adjacent, each with accent stone walls and beamed ceilings. Sink onto a sofa and make yourself at home before heading into the country-style kitchen to whip up some dinner for your loved ones. Get everyone together to eat at the wooden dining table and afterwards pour yourself a glass of wine and stretch out in front of the stove. At bedtime, settle down in the stylish, ground-floor twin room (2’6″ singles can be king size on request). Alternatively, head upstairs and you’ll find a beautifully decorated king-size bedroom and single bedroom. Completing the layout, you’ll find a stylish bathroom with a bath and shower on the first floor.
Although this cottage doesn’t have a garden, its location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Within seconds you can be on walking or hiking trails surrounded by rolling hills and ancient ruins.
