Kent
Attractive Victorian seaside holiday cottage sleeping six guests, situated in the pretty seaside town of Whitstable, Kent within walking distance of the town’s shingle beach.
This property, suitable for couples and family getaways, is located within a short walk of all that the attractive town of Whitstable has to offer. The vibrant high street and famous Harbour Street, offer a wonderful range of independent shops where guests will find an unusual array of clothes, gifts, books, and homeware. There are also a number of specialist food shops, which are great for those who prefer to eat-in whilst on holiday, however, guests may find it hard to resist the town’s impressive choice of restaurants, gastropubs, and cafes including dog friendly pubs and restaurants. The pretty beach stretches around the bay from the town to the neighbouring village of Tankerton, where two rows of colourful beach huts line the gently-sloping shingle. Canterbury and other seaside towns are also only a short drive away.
The front door of this property opens directly into the open plan lounge/diner, with the lounge area situated at the front of the cottage. Guests will find it easy to make themselves at home here, with its comfortable seating, original tiled fireplace, DAB radio, and Smart TV with Netflix. To the rear of this room, past the stairs, is the dining area, a lovely light-filled space with a large dining table and a cosy wood burner. As is usual in this style of property, the bathroom can also be found on the ground floor, offering a shower-over-bath and WC. Steep, cottage-style wooden stairs lead to the first floor, where guests will find two of the cottage’s three bedrooms. Both of these are pleasant double rooms with some attractive original features. A further set of steep, narrow stairs leads up to the attic space on the second floor which has been converted to a light and airy twin room, which benefits from a Smart TV with Netflix. Please be aware that this room has a sloping ceiling and some reduced head-height. Please note this room does not have its own door, steps open directly into the loft room.
To the rear of the property, there is an enclosed garden which has a decked seating area with patio furniture, providing guests with the ideal space to enjoy alfresco drinks or meals. At the end of the garden there is a secure gate, which allows guests to bring bikes round. The cottage is in the conservation area where parking is free but space is limited.
