Attractive two-bedroomed holiday cottage enjoying views out to sea and a central yet quiet location in the English Riviera town of Brixham, situated just a few metres from the town’s bustling harbour.
This property is located in a traffic-free zone in the harbour town of Brixham, one of three towns clustered around the bay of Torbay in South Devon. The town has a proud maritime history and the harbour is still the thriving centre of the town today, with fishing vessels, tour boats, and the Torquay ferry running to and fro. There are number of beaches in the town, including the quiet St Mary’s Bay, the main Breakwater Beach and Shoalstone with its impressive 53-metre tidal pool. For those who want to find out more about the town’s heritage, there is a wonderfully constructed replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship The Golden Hind moored up at the harbour, offering five decks of hands-on exhibits to explore.
This pretty property makes a lovely cosy seaside retreat and has been thoughtfully styled to offer a wonderful place to stay. On entering the cottage, guests will find themselves in the open-plan living space which has cosy underfloor heating and an attractive beamed ceiling and warming wood burner. The kitchen has been hand-built in reclaimed wood and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, and washing machine, as well as a breakfast bar seating three. The lounge area has a comfy sofa and two easy chairs from which to enjoy the TV and DVD, or spend the evening chatting around the wood burner. Stairs lead to the first floor where the first of the two bedrooms can be found, as well as the bathroom which offers a compact shower-over-bath and WC. This bedroom is a charming double room with a double bed, beamed ceiling, and built-in dressing table and wardrobe. The master bedroom, on the second-floor is a stunning room, with its double bed, sloping ceiling, and French window which opens onto a Juliet balcony offering beautiful views across to the harbour.
Outside, to the front of the property, is an enclosed seating area with a table and chairs, which makes an ideal spot for enjoying alfresco drinks.
