Escape to the west coast of Wales in this contemporary family holiday cottage in Newgale close to the beach with stunning sea views. The chic property welcomes six guests and is the ideal base for families and groups of friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
A footpath leads to Newgale’s wide, sandy beach (0.5 miles). Here, you can spend the day building sandcastles, sharing family picnics, or joining the locals for a spot of surfing. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path passes through Newgale and you can enjoy long walks through the national park, admiring the breathtaking sea views and local wildlife. Newgale offers a friendly pub and a cute café, and you’ll find further eateries in nearby Solva (4 miles). Britain’s smallest city, St David’s, makes a great day out. Explore its 12th-century cathedral, marvel at the art and artefacts at Oriel y Parc, or enjoy some retail therapy in the many boutiques and galleries. Other day trips from the property include the colourful seaside town of Tenby, the historic town of Pembroke, and Oakwood Theme Park (all within 30 miles).
The detached coastal retreat boasts crisp, contemporary décor and features an array of colourful soft furnishings and beautiful artwork on the walls. Large windows let in plenty of natural light and many of the rooms enjoy fabulous coastal views. A couple of steps lead to the property’s rear entrance and, once inside, you’ll find a galley-style kitchen with Shaker-style units and everything needed to rustle up delicious feasts for the group. From here, move through to the vast lounge/diner with its impressive vaulted ceiling, warming wood burner, and magnificent picture window looking out towards the beach. After an action-packed day, spend time in here sharing family mealtimes at the sleek bench-style seating around the dining table, before stretching out on the sumptuous sofa to watch the Smart TV or read a book. The holiday retreat has three tastefully decorated bedrooms. The first is an inviting king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and French doors leading to a charming sunroom – the perfect spot for a morning coffee. The second king-size bedroom is reached via four steps and enjoys far-reaching sea views, and the remaining bedroom is an attractive double. A family bathroom rounds off the accommodation.
To the front of the property, you’ll find a patio area with magnificent coastal views. Relax here, sharing al fresco dinners and soaking in your private hot tub. The rear garden is enclosed, with a large lawn where children can play and a summerhouse – the perfect place to curl up with your holiday read. The property has private parking for three cars.
