This modern barn conversion holiday cottage with beautiful views to the River Tamar is ideal for a small family or group of friends looking to unwind in a tranquil rural setting. Located in a small hamlet down a winding country lane the cottage is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is 2.5 miles to the charming village of Yelverton with its traditional village pub.
Head a similar distance in the other direction and you’ll reach the village of Bere Ferrers. The larger market town of Tavistock is 8 miles away with its great range of independent shops and antique centres to browse. One of Tavistock’s claims to fame is that it was the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake. Walkers will love the area with its many footpaths to explore and the wild expanse of Dartmoor National Park just 5 miles away. For a day at the beach head 16 miles to the coast at Whitsand Bay or Wembury. If the city beckons then the galleries, museums and busy shopping streets of Plymouth are just 10 miles away.
The pretty converted cottage is set all on one level with an open-plan living area with high vaulted ceilings. The modern L-shaped kitchen flanks a dining area with comfortable sofas arranged to make the most of the views. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors open from the lounge area onto the deck taking in the sweeping countryside and estuary views. The bedrooms are compact and comfortable with a double and a twin both sharing the use of a family bathroom with an attractive freestanding bath and a walk-in shower. The whole home feels bright and airy with its high ceilings and large windows letting in the light.
Outside there is an elevated deck overlooking a garden with beautiful countryside and estuary views beyond. This tranquil space features two recliners and an outside dining table and chairs. With the sliding doors open the deck feels like a seamless extension of the internal living space and is a wonderful feature of the property. A charcoal BBQ is available for guests to use.
